Start up and test drive

Close the power switch and start the crane according to the prescribed operating sequence. Generally, the control circuit is started first, and then the main circuit is started.

Conduct a no-load test run, operate the lifting, lowering, large vehicle operation, small vehicle operation and other mechanisms of the crane separately, check whether the operation of each mechanism is stable, whether there is any abnormal noise, whether the brake is reliable, and whether the safety devices such as limiters are functioning properly. The no-load test run time is generally not less than 10 minutes.

Lifting operation

Select appropriate lifting equipment and binding methods based on the weight, shape, and size of the suspended object. The rated load of the lifting device should be greater than the weight of the lifted object, and the binding should be firm and reliable to prevent the lifted object from slipping during the lifting process.

Slowly lift the hook to lift the object off the ground at a certain distance (usually 100-200mm) for trial lifting. Check the balance status of the suspended object, the reliability of the brake, and the stress condition of the steel wire rope. If any abnormalities are found, the suspended object should be immediately lowered for inspection and handling.

After confirming that the trial lifting is normal, the formal lifting can be carried out. During the lifting process, the lifted object should be kept stable to avoid swinging, rotating, or colliding with surrounding objects.

Strictly lift according to the rated load, and overloading operations are strictly prohibited. If it is necessary to lift heavy objects close to the rated load, a small height and short stroke trial lifting should be conducted first to confirm safety before proceeding with the formal lifting.

Run Job

Both large and small vehicles should run smoothly, avoiding sudden acceleration, deceleration, and sharp turns. The operating speed should be reasonably selected based on the weight and distance of the lifted object, and should not exceed the specified operating speed.

During operation, operators should closely monitor the status of the suspended object and the surrounding environment to ensure that the suspended object does not collide with other objects. At the same time, attention should be paid to observing whether there are any abnormal conditions on the running track of the crane, such as track deformation, obstacles, etc.

When changing the direction of operation, the controller handle should be returned to zero first. After the crane stops running, the controller handle should be operated in reverse. Direct reverse operation is strictly prohibited to avoid damaging electrical equipment and transmission mechanisms.

Landing operation

When the suspended object reaches the designated position, slowly lower the hook to ensure that the object is accurately placed at the designated location. During the descent process, attention should be paid to controlling the descent speed to avoid the impact caused by the rapid fall of the suspended object.

When the suspended object approaches the ground, closely observe its condition to prevent it from crushing the ground or other objects. If the suspended object is placed on a platform, ensure that the platform can withstand the weight of the suspended object.

After the suspended object is lowered into place, the hook should be raised to a safe height to avoid contact with the ground or other objects.

Post homework processing

Shutdown operation

Run the various mechanisms of the crane to the designated position, such as the large crane running to the end of the track, the small crane running to the vicinity of the mid span, and the hook rising to the upper limit position.

Return the controller handle to zero position, cut off the power switch, and lock the operating room door.

Equipment cleaning and maintenance

Clean up dust, oil stains, and other debris on the crane to keep the equipment clean.

Lubricate key parts of the crane, such as wire ropes, bearings, gears, etc., according to the prescribed lubrication cycle and lubricant type.

Check the fastening of each component and tighten it promptly if there is any looseness.

Record and report

Operators should carefully fill in the operation records of the crane, including information such as operating time, lifting weight, job content, and equipment operation status.

If any malfunction or abnormal situation is found in the equipment, it should be reported to the higher authorities in a timely manner and maintenance personnel should be assisted in carrying out repairs.
