What are the structural components of a gantry crane
Today, the manufacturer of Chinese Loong gantry cranes will explain the structural composition of the gantry crane to you:
Metal structure:
Main beam: The core component that bears the load, typically featuring a plate-welded box structure, and can be designed as a single main beam or a double main beam configuration. The single main beam is suitable for applications with small lifting capacities, while the double main beam offers greater load-bearing capacity and is used in conditions requiring large lifting weights.
Support leg: A supporting structure connecting the main beam to the ground, which can be designed as an L-shape or C-shape, etc. The L-shape is convenient for manufacturing and installation, while the C-shape can reduce interference between the cargo and the support leg.
Lower crossbeam: Together with the legs, it forms a gantry framework, providing overall stability.
Lifting mechanism:
Electric motor: drives the reducer, which, through gear transmission, rotates the drum.
Reel: The steel wire rope is wound around it, and the lifting and lowering of the hook is controlled by the steel wire rope, thus achieving vertical transportation of goods.
Brake: Ensure safe braking during the lifting process.
Operating mechanism:
Crane traveling mechanism: It is driven by an electric motor, enabling the entire gantry crane to move longitudinally along the ground track.
Trolley running mechanism: It is driven by an electric motor, enabling the trolley to move laterally along the main beam track.
Electrical equipment:
Control cabinet: It centrally controls various actions of the gantry crane to ensure accurate and safe operation.
Cable drum: Provides power support for the operating mechanisms of both the large and small vehicles.
Lighting system: Provides working lighting to facilitate operations at night or in low-light environments.
Safety device:
Limit stop: Prevents the crane and trolley from operating beyond the track range.
Overload limiter: Prevents the hoisting mechanism from operating overload, ensuring equipment safety.
Buffer: Reduce the impact force when the crane and trolley run to the end of the track.
