What are the differences between bridge cranes and gantry cranes
As for the pricing of bridge cranes in China, today I will explain the difference between bridge cranes and gantry cranes
Difference 1
1. Bridge cranes are lifting equipment that are placed horizontally over workshops, warehouses, and material yards for material hoisting.
2. The gantry crane is a variation of the bridge crane, also known as the gantry crane. It is primarily used for loading and unloading operations of outdoor freight yards, material yards, and bulk cargo.
Difference 2
1. The bridge crane is shaped like a bridge because its two ends are located on tall cement pillars or metal supports.
2. The metal structure of a gantry crane resembles a door-shaped frame, with two legs installed under the load-bearing main beam, allowing it to travel directly on the ground tracks. Both ends of the main beam can feature extended cantilever beams.
Difference 3
The bridge of the bridge crane runs longitudinally along the tracks laid on the elevated structures on both sides, allowing full utilization of the space beneath the bridge for hoisting materials without being obstructed by ground equipment.
2. Gantry cranes are widely used in port freight yards due to their high site utilization rate, large operating range, wide adaptability, and strong versatility.
